Directing credits include the development and premiere productions of Aeneas Sagar Hemphill's Black Hollow, (Signature/Columbia); Kaela Mae-Shing Garvin's Ambition: The Female American Serial Killer Musical (Ars Nova/ANT Fest); Matthew Minnicino's Malefactions (Chinatown Soup); and Paige Goodloe's solo-piece about her battle with depression Journey to the Center of a Black Hole (Alchemical). Additional credits include New York City productions of Detroit by Lisa D'Amour (Pigeonholed Theatre Company/IATI) and Tango by Słavomir Mrożek (Robert Moss).
She is currently developing Emily Zemba's On Loss and Mice and Monsters and Love (The Drama League; Exquisite Corpse; upcoming LPAC Rough Draft Festival 2018) and an original piece about the first chatterbot, Conversations with ELIZA (The Drama League, First Draft Residency).
Lauren has also directed and developed new plays with and for a variety of NYC based organizations including The Drama League, Columbia MFA Playwrighting, NYU MFA Graduate Writing, Ars Nova ANT Fest, Dixon Place, The Tank, Barn Arts Collective, Chinatown Soup, Horse Trade @ The Kraine, Crash Box Theatre Company, Exquisite Corpse Company, The Dirty Blondes, 24 HR Plays Nationals, PLAYxPLAY, Bookshop Workshop, and Pipeline Theatre Company. She has also aided the development of plays through the casual play reading salon series Drinking Plays & Reading Wine, which she co-founded and co-curates.
Lauren was the Associate Director to Rachel Chavkin on the 2017-2018 national tour of Small Mouth Sounds by Bess Wohl. As an assistant, she has previously worked with Rachel Chavkin, Oliver Butler, Anne Kauffman, Ken Rus Schmoll, Elizabeth Swados, Les Waters, and 600 Highwaymen: Abigail Browde + Michael Silverstone.
